Graças a uma parceria especial entre o Musée Marmottan Monet e os Museus Reais de Belas Artes da Bélgica, de 20 de Setembro de 2012 a 03 de fevereiro de 2013, o Musée Marmottan Monet estará apresentando a exposição Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens e os outros. Barrocas pinturas flamengas nos Museus Reais de Belas Artes da Bélgica.

Thanks to a special partnership between the Musée Marmottan Monet and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, from 20 September 2012 to 3 February 2013, the Musée Marmottan Monet will be presenting the exhibition Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens and the others. Baroque Flemish paintings in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.

A exposição apresenta uma seleção de 41 pinturas da "Idade de Ouro" da antiga Sul Holanda, e abrange todas as áreas importantes em que os artistas desta região destacaram: pintura de história, retratos, pintura de gênero, natureza morta e paisagens. Algumas das obras são aquisições recentes, um número nunca foram expostos em Paris.

The exhibition features a selection of forty-one paintings from the ‘Golden Age’ of the former Southern Netherlands, and covers all the important areas in which the artists from this region excelled: history painting, portraiture, genre painting, still life and landscapes. Some of the works are recent acquisitions; a number have never been exhibited in Paris.

Entre as peças principal é o de Rubens Milagres de São Bento, uma pintura inacabada inteiramente à mão de Rubens e um belo exemplo de seu virtuosismo. Também na exposição é Bebidas barulhentas Jacob Jordaens é o rei e, para nos lembrar que ele não era apenas um pintor de cenas barulhentas, seu retrato de uma mulher imponente. Esta trava oposto dois retratos de Anthony van Dyck um dos quais é o retrato grande obra-prima do padre Jean Charles della Faille.

Among the principal pieces is Rubens’s The Miracles of St. Benedict, an unfinished painting entirely by Rubens’s hand and a fine example of his virtuosity. Also in the exhibition is Jacob Jordaens’s boisterous The King Drinks and, to remind us that he was not just a painter of boisterous scenes, his imposing Portrait of a Woman. This hangs opposite two portraits by Anthony van Dyck one of which is the great masterpiece Portrait of Father Jean Charles della Faille.

Landscapes, genre painting and still life are represented by the painters who did most to ensure their success. Foremost among them are Paul Bril, Lucas van Uden, David Teniers the Younger, Frans De Momper, Jan Fyt and Abraham Brueghel.

A exposição dá a devida importância, também, para os pintores que são menos conhecidos hoje, mas que no seu tempo gozava de grande popularidade. Cornelis Schut, Gerard de Lairesse, Jacob van Oost, o Velho, Jan Siberechts, Gillis van Tilborch e David Ryckaert todos pertencem a esta categoria.

The exhibition gives due importance, too, to painters who are less well known today but who in their time enjoyed great popularity. Cornelis Schut, Gerard de Lairesse, Jacob van Oost the Elder, Jan Siberechts, Gillis van Tilborch and David Ryckaert all belong in this category.

Um item de grande interesse é uma tela do pintor nascido em Bruxelas Karel Philips Spierinck Um bacanal com dois faunos olhando Sileno bêbados, com putti cavorting. É uma aquisição recente da seção de pinturas antigas dos Museus Reais e é um dos primeiros trabalhos que mostram a influência de Nicolas Poussin.

An item of great interest is a canvas by the Brussels born painter Karel Philips Spierinck A bacchanal with two fauns looking at drunken Silenus, with putti cavorting. It is a recent acquisition of the Old Paintings section of the Royal Museums and is one of the first works to show the influence of Nicolas Poussin.
